Afternoon all,

Got a problem setting my new computer up. Put everything together as per the Asus manual but can't seem to get the thing to boot. System turns on fine but there aren't any beeps coming from it and it isnt progressing to any boot screen.

Specs are:

Intel E6600
OCZ PC2-6400
Asus P5B Deluxe
BFG 7600
WD SATA 500GB.

Haven't put a rig together for a couple of years so the Intel slots and SATA stuff is relatively new to me so dont think I've overseen anything though.

Any ideas?

Cheers :)

Yeah cheers for the suggestion. Fan spins and also the HDD powers up. Was reading that people had problems with some RAM not receiving enough voltages with earlier versions, and a BIOS update being needed.

Would have thought all of this would be ironed out by now

The board should ship with the latest BIOS or a later BIOS version. As Melbourne says try reseating everything and taking out power cables and re-doing them. If that fails then try resetting CMOS!

Gone back to CPU + 1 stick of RAM + reseated GFX and still cant get it to boot :( No beeping, any suggestions?

Cheers

i had the exact same problem with my p5b a few days ago, turns out my enermax psu wasnt able to run it, got a new psu with 24pin cable (enermax only had 20) and works fine.

was ready to rma my board/cpu/ram back and all! :)
