I have XSPC HighFlex Hose 3/8" ID, 5/8" OD tubing which i'm trying to fit using these compression fittings. The tube fits onto the barb perfectly but I can't the compression ring has a small lip which stops me from slidding it down the tube and back to fitting.

Have a bought the wrong sized tube/fittings? Suggestions?

You have the correct internal diameter tubing which is why it will go over the barb. That tubing has a thicker wall than normal so its 16mm outer instead of 13mm outer which is what size the fittings are for.

I did exactly this last time lol when i was going from an EK kit tubing and fittings to larger tubing. I found compression fittings to be to small for the outter ring of the fitting to go over the tubing. Ended up replacing all the fittings.. 14 in total just so i can get some nicer tubing in.

It's one of the drawbacks of using the EK kits, they use uncommon compression fittings.

You might be able to force it to go on with a little effort. My tubing is too thick for the fittings, but with curses and a couple of spanners it usually goes together. The tubing tends to get pulled into the threads. Certainly no leaks that way. I'm using 10mm ID, 13mm OD tubing with fittings intended for 10/12 tubing. The extra 0.5mm of thickness doesn't stop this working.
