Where to being.....

I had a domain-based namespace setup in DFS for the sake of this post lets call it \\domain.local\DFS, that was setup on one server which has been wiped, it was setup to replicate to about 10 other partner servers.

The physical files still exist on the other 10 servers, if i open DFS on the other servers they see it until i refresh the namespace, once i refresh it i get a red cross and the DFS root is most definately inaccessible.

I assume some central part of the DFS share was held on the original server for sharing the file out even though the actual files exist on 10 other servers and wasn't actually a part of the replication group!

Now my problem is i need to recreate this share so that i don't have to around correcting everything that previously used it's path, but i can't as it thinks it still exists even after i've gone on one of the other member servers and deleted it entirely, I've also gone into DFS-Configuration in AD and removed it from there, still it exists. If i try removing it with dfsutil it tells me: "SYSTEM ERROR - Element not found"

How do i resolve this?

I got rid of it in the end by deleting it from DFS-Configuration in AD and waiting for it to replicate the change, not sure if any bits are left behind but it's allowed me to recreate it which is what i wanted :D cheers though
