help can't sign in to Google play on SG3

I can't sign in to play or synch on my SG3. When I try it asks me to retype my password which it says is wrong even though I know it's right and can sign in to Google through the website.

Another issue I've always had is the apps I've bought through market/play are remembered on my SG3 and tablet but they don't show up on my account through Google website.

Anyone?

Have you setup 2 step authentication on your Google account? If so then you need to use the application specific password that you generate from the website Google account and not your main Google password.

If not, clear the market application cache and reboot your phone and retry.
 
I haven't set up the two stage authentication and I've tried clearing cache numerous time with no joy :(
 
Then you cannot use your MAIN Google password on your phone to access Google services.

Go here - https://accounts.google.com/b/0/IssuedAuthSubTokens?hl=en (you will need to log in) and create an Application Specific Password. Name it whatever you want and then use the generated password to access Google services from your mobile e.g. market

Note the password down in case you need it again as it only shows you it once (I note all mine in the drafts folder of Gmail
 
I've had this before when somehow the time and date got screwed up. As soon as I put it right I was able to sign in.
 
I'm pulling my hair out, really wish I kept my iPhone :(

I've factory reset the phone and gone through setting it back up and still I get "your username and password don't match. Try again"

I've tried entering the password I use to log in to google and the new application specific password I created. But sill it doesn't work :(

I created a totally new account and that works but I have none of the apps I bought and why should I need two different accounts to access google its stupid!

Date and time are correct btw
 
The fact you have reset your phone means you should now be using the application specific password. The password is normally 4 blocks of 4 letters. This should be entered WITHOUT spaces.

If you have double checked the spelling etc then not sure how else to resolve this...


When you reset the phone and initially set it back up, did the initial Google signup show this error again or is it just the Market app?



Edit: ignore me, I thought you said you HAD set up 2 step auth... If you haven't then you just use your main Google password....

Had a re-read of the problem here and I find something strange.

The Google Play Store on the web should remember your apps IF you are logged into the same account that the apps are associated with. Can you confirm the following:

1. Does anyone else use your PC?
2. Are you 100% sure you are logged into your own Google account on the PC?
3. If so, go to the Play Store on your PC and choose "My Android Apps" on the top right. Does it show your devices on the left just below the "Shop" dropdown menu?
4. Do you have more than 1 Google account prior to creating the new one you mentioned tonight?
 
Even when my SG3 was working and my Android tab before that, Apps or devices I bought have never shown up on my google account. I just accepted this because at least when I sign in to market/play they are remembered.

No one else as access to my PC and I only have 1 account as far as I know. I've turned off 2 step verification as it does nothing to help. I tried it numerous times :(

I'm showing great strength by not throwing the damn thing at the wall!!!
 
I bought my SG3 on contract from Three. Would it be possible to put the sim in to an iPhone 5 and have it work just as it did with the SG3 or will I need to sort it out with Three?

I know it sounds mad but I've been trying to solve this issue all day and as much as i like the SG3 I absolutely loath the Play store and the way google works, never have a ounce of trouble from my Apple devices and the App Store.
 
Your SIM is not the right size for the IP5 as Apple changed it again to a nano-SIM from a micro-SIM.

Something strange is going on. If you have bought any paid apps, did you get the receipt emails sent to your GMail account ok? This would at least indicate that you are on the correct account. You can further check by accessing the Google Wallet on the web.

Yes I've bough paid for apps from Google play on my ntlworld.com account which is the same account I use on computer and phone. I also have receipts for these. Last one was for real racing 2 in August.

I tried that link and all it shows me is a few purchases I made with Google checkout. However it is the same cc as the one I bought Apps on but they don't show.

I''ve tried setting up 2 step verification and verifying my device by scanning the on screen code and using the code which accepts it on my computer but when I try and log on with my phone on Google play I get the same password doesn't match error!

Driving me mad :(
 
On the device, try logging into Play from within the stock android browser.

I have to go now, damn missus wanting wood flooring laying, but i will be back this evening to help if you havent sorted it by then.
