HELP - Can't unscrew compression fitting!

Hey guys,

I have a bitspower compression fitting, and I think I may have overtightened it - since I can't undo it. It's not connected to anything. Any ideas on how to loosen it?

Wrap a rubber band around it then unscrew it
Rubber bands give you much better grip and make unscrewing things very easy.

Failing the rubber band trick you could try a pair of pliers although will scratch the knurl.

I used plyers but use some tissue to stop any damage.

Plyers and a towel/cloth to protect the knurling.

Knurl is such a great word, I wonder if it could be used as a verb, I'm so knurling you tonight kind of thing.

that has just put a smile on my face!

Coldfused, try putting it in hot water for 1 min (knurl in water and inner part out of water if possible) as this will expand the metal and my make it easier to undo with the rubber band method.

Mate wrap some electrical tape around some pliers apply gentle force and it should come free. Any more trouble pm me and i'll help you out. I'm a plumber!
