Hi all, my 1st post and i'm at the hair pulling stage due to my graphics card seems invisible to my motherboard.
Fitted new motherboard, chip and memory all fine, updated bios and all the common stuff when i put my video card in just as instructed by motherboard manual it says no video on my monitor.
If i unplug the card the on processor graphics work and i can resume.
I downloaded latest drivers for card etc nothing happened, the onboard fan runs and it has power. I tried it in the other pci-e slots still nothing showing.
It isn't recognised in CPUZ, I also disabled the onchip graphics and rebooted hoping it would find the card, still no signal on monitor.

Current gear is a gigabyte z97x gaming 7 atx motherboard
intel i7-4790 devils canyon processor with stock fan
memory are kingston beast x2 4gig 2400mhz duel channel
Graphics card is HIS 6950 ICEQ 2GB GDDR5 PCI -E
Powered by Corsair 650w
500gb hard drive -blu ray and cd/dvd drive.

Any help will be great before i start resorting to kicking the crap out of this pc.

Bill

If you have plugged in both 6pins, and updated the bios then the card is probably faulty as the 6950's are now quite old anyway. How old is the power supply?

Update the BIOS first, may be some incompatibility that has been fixed in a new BIOS
In the BIOS options, look for the default graphics output and change that to PCIE Slot 1 and then try again

Are you sure you are putting the cable into the GPU not the onboard motherboard graphics output slot?
