Just wondering how hard it is to do this or if anybody has any pointers. A friend has asked me to help him out but to be honest, I really don't think either of us know what we are doing :p

Any tips?

I've not done one, but it's like most FWD cars then it'll go a bit like this:

You'll need to remove the driveshafts from the box, so you you'll have to drain the gearbox oil and disconnect the uprights from the lower arms to allow you to swing them out to get the CVs out of the box. You'll have to disconnect the gear linkages, clutch hydraulics and any wiring going to the box. Support the engine using a jack and suitable lump of wood so you can undo and remove the gearbox/body mounting brackets. Then undo the bellhousing bolts, manoeuvre the gearbox off the engine and downwards out the bottom of the car. Then you can remove the clutch pressure plate which must have the bolts undone evenly. Behind that is the friction plate.

Not a trivial job if you don't have access to a ramp and transmission jacks, but certainly doable.

Just a thought...does it have a dual mass flywheel?
