so a work mate is looking to upgrade, as hes got a new game that wont run on even lowest settings. i thought he had a old pc, but says its fairly new.

so i suggested a 780 ti to him and he was about to fire a sale on here but i said to post his specs first incase hes pc was no good.

so heres the specs, i said that a 780ti should be a sound upgrade
and said the gigabyte windforce was the better of the cards out there?

what you guys think?

If it's a Ubisoft game its not his hardware :D

haha, yer true, ubisoft have been groving. its Dragon Age: Inquisition

not 100% on psu, but thats the easier part. ok ill tell him 970 or the ti.

altho he is giving me a gt 650 for free, thatll do in the home pc so all good!!

what wattage is best on a card like those? something like 800 watts? would be a 80+ gold

Most stress tests that I've seen mention the 970 pulling about 275W at peak. A 500W PSU should be safe but I'd probably go for a 650W just to be certain.

With 800W you'd be able to comfortably SLi a couple of the 9-series cards.

600W 80+ Gold would be fine for a single card.
