Hello. After 3 years living with a 27" iMac I am making the jump back to a Windows PC as new Mac prices are just getting a bit silly now. I have ordered a machine with a GTX 970 card in it and now wish to buy a 1440p monitor to use it on. Aside from basic internet tasks and light photo editing, I am a casual FPS gamer and will be mainly playing Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen (when it arrives) and the Total War games. Much as I would like the Asus ROG Swift my budget is around £300.

So what can I get for that which would suit my needs. I'm not sure if I need 144hz but if I can afford it then I figure I should buy the latest technology I can get. I now I may not be able to achieve very high frame rates but I''m sure what I can get will be acceptable to me. I have looked at the BenQ monitors, but there are so many models I must admit that I am a bit confused. Hopefully someone here will be able to help me out.

Thanks

In the same situation myself. Lots of good gaming monitors about to come out in the next few months. Here's a few I am looking at:

Just waiting on the new BenQ XL2730Z which is the successor to the above monitor.

I would definately go for 144mhz if you are gaming.

Only one of those is 1440p.

Which is what the guy wants

Yes that is what I wanted. In the end I bought the Dell U2515H. Only just released and getting good reviews. Only £254 too!!

Interesting. 25 inches at 1440p. Good price too!

Must..resist.. :D

Thinking of running one 1440p monitor off my 780 ti, then the old 1080p and maybe another 1440p (if possible) off the integrated intel.
