Right guys feeling motivated with my weight loos , been counting calories and going well! You guy's and girl's seem to be good with advice!

So i want to buy a mountain bike and have a budget of £500 had a look about and the bikes with in my budget seem to be

VooDoo HooDoo (2013) - £460 with a nice discount this week!

Whistle patwin £480

Open to other suggestions within my budget! Does really need to deliver because of where i live unless its in Glasgow as a can get up there.

Thanks guys

If it's just for exercise you're much better off with a road bike as it's a lot easier to just go out for a ride each evening after work.

Yeah well i'm going to be using this off road and a wee bit on 2mile cycle on road! But i would be able to do both with one bike and the voodoo has the remote lock out! thanks for the suggestion!

Where are you based?

Worth a visit to glasgow at least sit on a few bikes.

Got dales, alpine bikes, Evans at braehead, mcmartins/ freeflow on the south side. We have a shop in Cathcart with Clarkston cycle centre up the road.

Between the shops you're covered most big brands like specialized, giant, Scott, Marin and kona.

If you prefer mail order then go for the ubiquitous canyon.

Based in dunoon, across the water from greenock well that's suit probably going up to glasgow soon anyway and ill have a wee look around!

I bought a cheap 'mountain bike' and i swear the suspension only added weight it didnt 'recoil' on bumps haha :P

thank you for the advice!
