Help choosing a gaming mouse

Evening all

Im looking into getting a gaming mouse for the 1st time mainly to use for games like battfield etc, to be honest im not looking for anything to flashy as to me a mouse is a mouse but ideally im looking for one with a couple of extra buttons on it so its a bit more user friendly in game and i dont get finger cramp on my G15

Dont really have a budget so would be happy to listen whatever you guys suggest

Get Logitech MX518 instead, G500 is a nice mouse but I am on second and they er squeak...left click plays up on mine...

really like the look of the MX518 and it looks like just what i am after, shame OCUK dont seem to stock this. Can i just ask what exactly does the dpi setting do on a mouse? is it the speed in which the cursor moves across the screen? if so i have never changed this b4 so would these gaming mouses come with a normal dpi setting by default?

Yes. Increasing the DPI will move the cursor faster and decreasing will move slower. E.g. in a game like Battlefield, you could have normal DPI (say 800) for walking around, then increase to 2000 when in a Tank (it makes the turret spin round faster) and decrease it to 400 when looking through the sight on a sniper rifle.

sweet never thought of it like that! i always wondered how some of em managed to kill me so quick on a turret!!
