Found an Acer Aspire 5103WLMi for £559 inc vat
Specs
AMD Turion X2 TL52
15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite Widescreen TFT Display
120GB Hard Drive

Does this sound ok?
What is Acer stuff like, I dont know anything about them?

Any advice would be appreciated thanks :)

I'm gonna jump in here first and say Acer is an excellent brand :) They're a bit plasticy - not as sturdy as an IBM build wise - but they look really nice, and they won't break unless you do something stupid (or you happen to get a dodgy one! Don't worry that won't happen). I had loads of friends at college who had them. Also my Dad has one, and I have one (Acer Aspire 3023WLMi).

The X1300 won't be great, but for £600 you can't ask much more! Turion processor will be good, too :-)

I can run HL2 on pretty much full graphics (not full AA though) an I have a Sempron 3000+ and an X700 128mb in mine.

Oh that's a point, is the X1300 with dedicated or shared (virtual) memory?

EDIT: Seems it's "ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 with 64MB DDR2" - not a lot of memory there, so don't expect much for graphics performance. Be careful, there's also models of the same name with "ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 upto 256MB Shared" which won't be so good. Seems she won't be playing games much anyway, but still... :p Other than the GFX card, those specs are great for the price IMO :)
