I am planning a 2500k build and have a budget of £100 absolute maximum for a motherboard, should I just go with a z68, or is there any benefit of a z77 board with the 2500k?

Cheers

Dan

Z77 gives you USB3.0, not sure that Z68 boards do, but I might be wrong.

Z77 gives you the possibility of PCIE 3.0 if you want it, but you'll need an IB CPU too.

I'd go with the Z77 option, unless you can get a Z68 at a good price. I don't think there's a lot in it though, so you may as well go Z77.

I went for the next model up from this ......

Its a fiver more than your budget, but they are nice boards. Maybe OCUK will do a "special" on this board. Other than that, I suspect any of the sub-£100 ASUS, MSI etc board will do the job.

Update :

It appears that Z68 boards do have USB 3.0, and some have PCIE 3.0 with an IB. Oh well, 77 is a higher number than 68, go with the higher number ! :D
