Hi i need some advice. I wanna do something to my computer to stop the sound of a large airconditioning unit!! I was thinking getting the Arctic Cooling T1 Silentium Silent Midi Tower Case - 350W Seasonic Silent PSU (CA-000-AR).

Would what i have fit in here, would it be much quieter, anything else i should consider?

I currently has this spec,
Processor - AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Processor
Operating System - Microsoft® Windows XP Home
Memory – 1gb Geil Value RAM
Hard Disk - 200GB 7200 RPM ATA-100 Drive
Optical 1 - Double Layer 16x Multiformat (+/-) DVD-Rewiter Drive
Graphics – geforce 6800 LE leadtech
Sound – Audigy 2
Us robotics wireless card
Ports etc. - USB2.0 Ports x4, Parallel & Standard Ports
Case - Full ATX Tower Case with Upgrade Capacity (7 Drive Bays)
Motherboard - Microstar MS6741 Micro ATX Motherboard

Thanks for any help

Only thing about getting that case is the fact that the PSU is fitted and there's no way to change PSU's if you needed to. At the moment the PSU should be able to power the spec you've got, but if you were to upgrade in the future you'd be a bit screwed as your PSU may not be able to power your PC.

The case will make VERY little difference to the overall noise of the PC, a noisey PC in one case, is still a noisey PC in another.

Replace the graphics card cooler with a Zalman or other brand low noise GPU HSF.

That will instantly make a difference, then consider the CPU HSF.

Then you should look at hard drives.

If you check the sticky, there is some info on quietening your PC down :)

Cheers for that, i just opened my case up firstly i noticed all the dust *cough* I stoped the case fans and the cpu one and the noise didnt go down, it just seems to be the cpu that is making the main racket!! I reckon a new one will help, is the Seasonic 430 a good silent one to go for? Ive seen it for £41

CPU making the racket, so your going for a PSU

If its just the PSU then yeh the seasonic is a good one to go for, you wrote CPU instead of PSU, got ya now :D

/I use a seasonic :)

Well the Hiper PSU's are meant to be silent, makes a racket, Tagan are silent.

The seasonic I have, do I have a seasonic

Only moving fan in the case, it is the quietest one I have used.

They are all meant to be the same size, but modular are bigger, the seasonic is more of a average PSU.
