Merry xmas everyone,

Im wondering if anyone can help me, im looking for a new gaming keyboard. Im really liking the look of the G15 below
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-117-LG&tool=3

I have heard that the V1 is better than V2 but im not to sure what version this one is.

The only thing that puts me off slighty is the price but i do love the fact of the lcd screen looks kinda cool, is there any alternates that people could reccomend me that are a bit cheaper?

Thanks a mill

Version 1

Version 2

I'm still undesided on a gaming keyboard too , I prefer the looks of the version 2 G15 although the 18 G keys on the version 1 is a better feature.

The G510 is like an updated version of the G15 but with onboard sound and no USB hub (don't really like that would prefer the USB hub instead of sound) and is only alittle more than the G15 ver2 brand new.

The G19 although a nice looking keyboard is atad too expensive I think , and really can't see the need for that small colour display.

A second hand G15 ver1 or ver2 , if cheap enough might be the answer , because I would perfer a Logitech gaming keyboard (as always had logitech keyboards in the past and like them).
But I think the G15 brand new being only slightly cheaper than the G510 (£10 cheaper at current prices on OcUK) seem's alittle expensive, although the G510 is out of stock atm anyway.

Can't really comment on the razors' rocacat's etc , as have never tried them, but read reviews that say they are good.

*EDIT*

Forgot too mentiom the G110, Nice enough looking keyboard, 12 G keys , no display (not sure the display would be terribly useful anyway) but sound built into the keyboard again , which for me is a negative feature.

Ouch G19 £130, lol the most l spend on a k'broad £6 Microsoft its had a good bashing over 18months still as good as new. Gamed for years never felt the need for a Gaming K'broad, but bought a good gaming mouse and yes its a MX518.

Well the only thing l can say is V2 looks better, not really keen on black and silver k'broads, looks a hard call m8.

Merry Xmass to you to.

Wow didnt realize the difference between the 2. I much prefer the look of version 1 to be honest might try and see if anywhere still stocks them

If its a co.uk website or the price is in £s it'll probably be the UK keyboard, unless its from an auction site e.g. ebay, amazon etc.

Those are really cool! Have you ever looked at the razerzone gaming products, they too have impressive products on their site.

Hi mate the site address ends like this (.com/en-gb) and the price is in GBP but by looking at the picture carefully it looks like the number "2" key has the @ symbol on it which is the US i believe as the UK number "2" has the " symbol

Its just at that price its a steal! i remember it being on here for £54 a few months back so wish i snapped it up then!

Etailers usually just put any picture they can find on there websites so its hard to tell, could try emailing them to find out.

Just sent them an email mate, i know why is wasn't coming up on there site when i searched its because its a promotion offer and one hell of an offer to :D.

Gonna have to wait for there responce i guess as much as i dont want to lol but i believe it could well be the uk layout as its from the european store

Just a friendly FYI b4 a mod jump's all over your post ;)

OcUK Forums Rules
Among the other rules this one seems relevent
As you know OcUK are in the computer hardware business and therefore the promotion of OcUK's competitors is forbidden. Examples of promotion are :-
Hinting about product availability at competitors and their pricing
Logitech's own site and store could be classed as a competitor (refering to post #6 didn't think quoting it would be a good idea :p)

My bad the main thing i was trying to find out was how to tell the difference between the US and UK layouts.

I did state that OCUK dont seem to stock version 1 which is what i am after if i wanted v2 or if they had v1 i would get it from here anyway cos the service is 1st class

I would doubt you will find the version 1 for sale brand new, as it was replaced by the version 2 and thats still available.

But you might be able to locate one second hand , maybe on the MM , spoke to someone the other day on here who had got one from there in this thread (although never asked if it was a ver1 or 2)

Might be worth a look as you have over the 250 post requirement, of course thats not the only place you could look ;)

no offence to any one here :( but IMO if you spend over £30 for a keyboard your paying for the bragging rights. I play many games like wow, AoC, Mw2 etc with a G11 (cheaper version of the keyboard pictured above) and a keyfang pad. The keyfang pad is SO much easier to use than a keyboard and will help with games a lot more. It takes about 2-3 hours of gaming to get used to it but its worth it. 3 years on and im still gobsmacked at how easy it is to play games with.

What games do you play exactly?

Take a look at the Saitek Cyborg keyboard. I've had it for around two years now. It's excellent. The "WASD" keys are all aluminium so they don't wear out and feel great. Their is a game mode, which changes the backlight colours into sections. Keypad is red, numbers green etc. "WASD" keys orange for example.

Touch sensor buttons on top for volume, skip, play and pause etc. It has a usb hub and ports to connect your headset, speaker in and headphone in.

It was around the 70 quid mark two years ago. Be able to pick a second hand one up much cheaper I imagine.
