Hi all

I want to upgrade my graphics card (for around the £90-120 mark) and was wondering if anyone could tell me what i needed to know before i commit (ie will it work with my motherboard / will it fit in my case etc).

My PC is:

  • Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail
  • Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM (66I-01939)
  • Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3 Intel P43 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
  • XFX ATI Radeon HD 4830 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail
  • OCZ StealthXStream 500w Silent Power Supply
  • Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black
  • Samsung SpinPoint F1 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD322HJ)
  • Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX Dual Channel (TWIN2X4096-6400C5)
  • LG GH22NS70 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
  • Akasa AK-965 CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)

If anyone could reccommend a card that is suitable that would be great.

Thanks a bunch

Would you say that my PSU is good enough? (i hope it is) - as google seems to suggest that 500W is the utter bare minimum and i could be pushing it?

It will be fine, I had a very very similiar system few years ago with an E2180 overclocked to 2.7ghz and a 4870 with the exact same PSU.
