Hi,

I am currently using a Samsung LCD screen which is 24" but can only go as high as 720p :(

I'm looking to upgrade but would like some help as I have never bought a screen to be used purely for PC gaming so am not entirely sure what I'm looking for.

I have just got an HD5870 and would like to utilise this. Unless someone tells me different I don't really want anything lower than 1920 x 1200 res?? Would def love the higher res of 2560 x 1600 (Sorry if those are not the correct figures like I say I'm new to this :)

I have seen the Acer G24 oid for £198 and this seems like a great choice!! However, I don't really trust my judgement so would love a more knowledgable point of view! Her are the specs for it:

PC, Metallic copper, 1920 x 1200 / 60 Hz, 0.27 mm, 400 cd/m2, 50000:1 (dynamic), 24-bit (16.7 million colours), 2 years warranty

BTW I'd love to put my Samsung screen for sale on here but can't find where it is? Can anyone point me in the right direction??

hello ye id say you go for a monitor at least 1900by1080 which is the HD standard
here are some monitors for consideration:

Cheers!!

The 1st one seems good, despite dropping an inch on the screen :(
Although the res seems a bit strange on there? Would I not get problems with it?

Id rather pay a bit more toc get 1920 x 1200 so the second ones out.

I wish I could get the 3rd one. Id say the absolute max I'd go would be £250.

Just had a look online and that screen I originally wrote about - Acer G24 OID seems to be like £300+ everywhere else?? On the same website the Samsung SM2433BW 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor, which OcUk have priced at £213 is only £135??

Have I found the greatest web site ever... or just the scam of the week? The site seems legit? With their prices I could get an AWESOME screen on my budget!!!

Thanks :)

if you want the SM2433BW i advise you to do your research first as there have been humours that it has a brightness problem that causes buzzing noises below 100% brightness
