Help choosing a system to buy.

Recently I have decided to purchase a new computer as my current one is dying. The main purpose of the computer will be for gaming (World of Warcraft mainly and maybe some Black Ops/Starcraft 2 on the side). At the moment I have looked at 2 computers and am not sure what to pick.

I was hoping somebody would be able to advise me which one would be better in terms of value for money and for gaming. These are the 2 machines I've thus far looked at:

and http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-237-OK (upgrading the graphics card to the GTX 460 1024MB)

My main concern is how good the Sandy Bridge is for gaming as I've heard some sceptical comments on its performance in this area and the difference in price is barely worth it.

Thanks for your time.

Hi and welcome to the forums

IMO its definitely woth getting the SB build, for only £80 more its a must, more and more games are making use of more than 2 cores now, which is all the i3 provides (granted another 2 logical via HT but only 2 physical), plus the SB is faster flat out, not sure what reports you could have seen

This shows a good comparison of the 2 chips at stock, when OCd Id expect the differences to be greater
