Hey guys,

As part of my house refurb I'm having an all new bathroom. We are fitting a thermostatic shower but there seems a lot of choice around. I want one that also has the rain head.

Been looking at the Grohe Tempesta. Is this a good one? Are there better alternatives at £300 or below?

Cheers for any and all help

You can't go wrong with Grohe, high quality showers and taps. Just be careful that you get the right shower and taps for your water pressure, this shower is high pressure so it needs to be installed with a pump if you're water comes from a water tank in the loft.

Yes no problem with the combi. The good thing with Grohe is you can still get spare parts in 10 years time, also that's a good price on Amazon.

I have a Mira Digital (Combi version) and its been great. I also have the dual version so it does my bath too and fills through the overflow so I dont have any taps. I can press one button and it fill my bath to perfect height and temperature :)

didn't someone on here recently get a grohe shower from Germany and save a quite a bit of money? I recall them saying it was just on some German plumbing supplier or something.

It's a 3 month old 30kw (I think) Ideal. The previous owner fitted it a month before we bought the house.

Gutted if it won't be up to it.

I wouldn't worry too much, as long as you have over 1bar of pressure coming out of your hot tap you'll be fine. The rain shower head isn't that big compared to some others at just over 6 inches. Just ask your plumber to make sure before you buy.

Cheers for all the feedback guys.

Will check with my plumber. I wondered about the rain head too, my wife wants a bigger head (....) but I'm not so sure

When I was looked into it last year the Mira Excel tended to come out on top on reviews and opinions however it isn't cheap at £400 and you would need to factor in purchasing a rainforest head that is ideally aerated.

I've had my Hansgrohe thermostatic shower for around 5-6 years and it's been spot on.
Got it from their eBay store; it was a lot cheaper than any other shop or anywhere else online I could find (it was classed as a "discontinued product") and still came with a full warranty.

Edit:

That Tempesta model is under £220inc delivery via their eBay store.
Don't know if it's cheaper elsewhere though.

I'll take a look. I think the normal head is aerated but not sure about the rain head which I am concerned is a bit small

Hadn't even thought of the bay. Any chance you can trust me the link? Tried searching but for some reason I can't find it
