Hope you guys can help. I'm looking to buy a 2GB RAM kit - DDR400, doesn't really have to be anything special. Was going to go for this Corsair ValueSelect kit, but I've noticed that there's THIS 2GB XMS kit for about £10 less than the ValueSelect. The XMS stuff looks rather cool, but it's not in some way worse than the VS RAM is it?

There's also the Muskin 2GB set for about the same price as the XMS.

I don't really know a whole lot about timings or anything like that. I don't overclock at the moment although I plan to overclock a bit in the future, but not sure how the RAM will affect that.

Thanks for any help. :)

The XMS RAM is good stuff, and is not worse than the Value RAM. ;)

I'd personally recommend this for you,

G.Skill 2GB DDR ZX PC3200 (2x1GB) CAS2 Dual Channel Kit

Super timings, and can be overclocked when you come round to it. But for just over £150 it's a bargain! :D

Some of the Corsair Value Select comes with the Samsung UCCC modules on them......Mine set clocked to 270HTT 1:1 in dual channel mode

I got the Corsair 2gb CAS3 Dual channel kit (from a competitor): VS2GBKIT400C3, now sold as i've moved to Conroe :)

Timings of 3-3-3-8 with 2.65v
