Hi all.. I'm not realy up on Benchmark tests and the likes.. but my Geforce 9800GTX died recently and i'm looking for a new card. I go through this every couple of years... searching for the best card to get and i'm always left with a headache... :)
I'm trying to decide between something like a BFG GTX295 1792MB DDR3 Single PCB Dual DVI PhysX and Cuda ready PCI-E ..... and the new Gigabyte HD 5870 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card. Basicly between the 295 and 5870. It's purely for gaming. Can someone give me some advise please on which would be the better card. Many Thanks.

Is there much of a difference in speed between the two? I know it probably isn't as simple as that.. but say i was playing something like Team fortress 2.... which card would give better performance? Or is it ATI over Nvidia because the ATI is better future proofed? Thanks again.

1st off i feel your pain.

been about 2 months deciding and changing my mind almost every other day, but i think the my minds set now.

id say the 295 beats the 5870 in most benches (1920x1200) but not by much, and in a few cases vice versa, do what im doing and get 2x 5850 for £400 :D

do you have a budget at all? cos 2x 5870's would be pretty cool! /drool
