Hello everyone,

I'm after a little bit of advice please, I have upto £100 for a new graphics card for my laptop but I have no idea which one to choose or how to know if it will fit atall, could anyone help me choose please? Also will I need to upgrade the psu too? if so what one would be advised?

Here are my current specs:

Asus N53SV laptop

GT 540m - gpu
i5-2430m - cpu
8gb ram

Any help is much appreciated!

I hate to be the one to say it, but you can't just swap the graphics card in a laptop... they're usually soldered on.

Unless Asus themselves are selling upgrades for it, I suspect you're out of luck. Sorry :(

As above, this is not possible, and even if it were £100 would not get you anywhere. Best start saving for a new laptop, or better yet a full PC.

Upgrades for laptops other than HDs and memory are hard to come by. If they do offer some form of graphics upgrade then they will be charging a premium as so few are sold.

Perhaps you could add an external GPU but the enclosure would cost ~£100 alone.

oh really? thats a shame, I was told when i bought the laptop that he had already upgraded the gpu but i guess that was a fib, thanks anyway guys
