Help choosing Hi-Fi speakers

I'm going to town to buy new speakers today and was wondering what you all thought would be the best buy out of the list posted above.

I'm thinking either the wharfedale 8.1' or 9.1'

Which cables should I go for the Gale Biwire or the Audio Innovations Biwire?

Visit a proper Hi-Fi shop. Richer Sounds are just box shifters.

I'm in glasgow, Yeah there are other shops further in town but i'm on foot and don't fancy lugging them all the way back to the train station

Richersounds are fine. Always bought my stuff from them, maybe you won't get the top expert advice but you will save loads compared to other Hi-fi specialists

you really should get to a proper hi-fi shop and listen to some speakers, and try to arrange a home test. All speakers will sound different depending on where they are located and the hardware you use with them.

also, try posting in the Hi-Fi section....

I'm running a pair of active Warfedale Diamond 8.2 and they are great!

Also have some old Wharfedale 'Diamond Pro' speakers connected to a NAD 3020i downstairs, and they've lasted 15 years and are still sounding good!

What have you got against Warfedale?

Also - Richer Sounds is great if you just want some budget hi-fi stuff. They don't really know what they're talking about as a rule, but if you know what you want they are fantastic!

I went for the 9.1' in the end. sound a lot better than the Gale MK2' I was using before(Still going to use them though in a 4 speaker set-up)
