Im stuck between what motherboard to get :(

The J&W OcUK Value IP35 Pro seems like a good motherboard and has support for the new 45nm Quads. That is my main reason for getting it.

The 680i LT has dual 16x SLi and it would be fun to play about with 2 8800GT's.

Can someone please help me? :)

If you think getting an extra GT to run SLI is going to prove beneficial to your gaming experience I would go in that direction.

You have a 24" monitor and high res gaming is what SLI is all about, so I think you should do it :)

What sort of clock are you running on you q6600 atm?

Just at stock at the moment as my current motherboard (965p DS3) doesn't like the quad that much.

The 680i LT is the by XFX - but unsure of XFX as well

Thanks for your advice :)

There is no guarantee of anything when it comes to overclocking the new Quads as the only ones out there are ES chips. The J&W runs very cool, even with extreme overclocks on, has little or no Vdroop and is now very straightforward to overclock. When it first came out, the BIOS was a real mess, but they've fixed it now and I've posted some strong results in the official thread recently, and I'd have to say their support through kenofstephen (our UK support technician) is second to none. We ask/suggest a BIOS change and they pretty much deliver it immediately. I haven't tried it in Crossfire, but if you want to overclock, it's very good value at £65.

XFX make good boards (they're actually pattern NVidia boards made by Foxconn), but the 680i LT isn't a great Quad clocker - you might get 3-3.2GHz from a Q6600 whereas the J&W will get you to 3.8GHz+ if the CPU is up to it. The 680i chipset is also very old now. For an SLI motherboard I would suggest you look at at least the ASUS P5N-D, which is a 750i chipset board.

I've been looking into it today but its just for some fun if I go SLi and then more money if I do buy a second gfx card. I think the J&W should do :)

yup, get the J&W board and see if it overclocks your quad as well as WJA96 says it will :)

need more people running this brand
