Help choosing Motherboard

Hi, I currently have 'Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.00GHz', 'XFX ATI Radeon HD 4850', 400W PSU, 3GB DDR2 RAM. (buying better RAM soon)

I am looking to buy a motherboard with a budget of around £80, but do not know which would be best?

Are you slowly upgrading to socket am3? or just looking for a motherboard for those components?

asus m4a77d would work, only £60 atm, then you could stick an am3 chip in there at a later date

wouldn't make much difference unless you need the sli (which you don't as you have an ati card

)

Ok thanks lol, i'll have a look at that m4a77d. Any suggestions on nice RAM to get? I'd be looking at 4GB and maybe an £80 budget again?

just so you know you could get a cheap am3 board an athlon 245 (would be a quite significant speed boost) and 4gb of 1600mhz ddr for £180

Hmmm I'll have a look at that, but was just looking at getting a new motherboard at the moment, then upgrade other components when possible

kk, would only be £20 over the cost of your ram and mobo budget combined, you could probs sell your old mobo, cpu and ram for a tidy sum
