HELP -Computer failed first boot!

Ok, this is my first real build, i have changed gfx card, harddrive and optical drive before but never an entire computer.

I purchased the haf 922 case
- power supply - coolmaster pro gold 1000w
- motherboard - crosshair v forumla
- gfx card - i fitted a 5570 directly into the motherboard - i will use it until my 6970 comes next week
- processor -1100t
- heatsink - thermalright venomous x with two 120mm black apaches
- optical drive - lg blue ray
- hdd - western digital black cavilier 1tb
- ram- 8gb (2 x4gb corsair vengeance)

Once i installed the hardware, i cabled everything very well. when the power was connected, some lights show up on my motherboard. One i press the boot button my case, every led on my motherboard lights up and the optical drive opens and closes. All case fans spin.

I plugged an hdmi cable into the gfx card - no signal, and no signal with a vga either. -- I am running off a 27" tv


The fans on my heatsink are not spinning and every now and again turn slightly - i think they only spin when needed - PLEASE CORRECT ME.

p.s. there was no beep upon boot
i smell no burning etc..

....i dont think the 8 pin for cpu power is connected - give me 5 minutes and i check, if not - i plug it in

Thanks guys, i am up and running - i am running off the windows 8 developers beta and my word it is stable.

bf3 beta on windows 8 beta .. running amazingly smooth
