Help! computer will not boot

hi,
i switched my computer off last night and it shut down fine, i have come to boot it up this morning and all i get is 3 beeps a pause then 3 beeps and this continues untill i switch the machine off, its kinda like one long beep then 2 quick ones.

does anyone have any ideas?

the system is a Asus barebone with an amd dual core processor and 2gig of ram

i was thinking the inbuilt graphics card could have packed up, although i have only had the system 6 weeks

If it is based on an AMI bios then from what you have described it sounds most likely to be a video card failure. Some code listings here and on the page are links to Phoenix bios codes. Do you have a PCI graphics card that you could use to test?

I do have a PCI card i can test yeah, i guess if i put that in it will bypass the intergrated graphics?

It depends on the motherboard, some have a jumper to disable the intergrated graphics.
