Help, computer wont boot, odd clicking sound from buzzer.

Hi all, just built up a little htpc today which is a h55 system, went to turn it on and there was an odd clicking noise, firstly i thought this was the hdd's so i unplugged them and still the odd clicking noise. I located the clicking coming from the buzzer. I google around and people mentioned check the ram so i have since swapped the modules with other ones in another computer but no luck. Any ideas?

Do the fans spin up when you turn the pc on? You say 'clicking' coming from the buzzer..do you mean there is a sound coming from the on-board speaker? Any diagnostic leds on the motherboard?

A pc refusing to boot at all (i.e no display at all) could be down to a number of things.Answering the questions above as well as providing a complete spec list will help anyone tring to diagnose where the problem lies

Oh i found it, one of the jumpers on the board was missing luckily i had a spare laying around

well done, i can never figure out jumper setups on motherboard's, they just confuse me
