I bought a Synology 110j with the hope of being able to consolidate my files from multiple machines into one location.
My intention was to set the My Music, My Documents and My Pictures folders to the NAS, that way if a change was made on one machine, it would be seen by all.
This worked until the first reboot, windows keeps asking for the username and password every new session (reboot or log out). Because of this the special folders end up pointing at invalid locations and simply disappear.
The alternative was to try to add them to the libraries in windows 7 but Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, excluded non-indexed locations from appearing there, the only way would be to use the offline files feature but that isn't present in Home Premium.
I've already wasted an evening trying to get this to work as I want it to.
Could anyone give me some advise?
