Hi All,

I am building my own rig for gaming/watching films. I've no time for gaming that much anymore but would like to spec a platform to last a few years and be able to deal with newer games.

This is the spec I've combined but some items are not easily availible in the UK. Would you give me your thoughs please and advise on substitutes for items out of stock plus keyboard and monitor units (27in or more?). Thanks

1x AMD Ryzen 7 2700
1x MSI B450 Tomahawk
1x Patriot 2x8GB 3000MHz Viper
1x Palit GTX1080 JetStream
1x Toshiba P300 1TB
1x Plextor M.2 M8PEG 256GB
1x Seasonic FOCUS Plus 550W
1x Fractal Design Meshify C
1x SilentiumPC Fortis 3
Monitor - TBC need advise
Mouse + keyboard - TBC need advise
Win 10 - not required

How will Ryzen differ from Intel CPU's for new games?

Regards,
Mr. M.

Thanks for suggestions, but not a big fan of VEGA cards. I'd like to stick to Ryzen for cost and benchmarks but was told to stay away from Vega GPU's.

Any way to squeeze in GTX 1080 with cooling that of Palit GTX 1080 Jetstream, silent cooler for CPU and well vented case?

Would like to look into getting a smaller case is possible, but not it cause the platform to overheat. May increase budget to achieve that. Suggestions?

There was no cooler suggested, what shall I get?

@Maciej Lemanowicz

£1300 with Vega 64 + 144hz 1440p freesync screen
larger SSD for OS and games- but ryzen 2600 instead of 2700x - shouldn't notice much difference in core usage for 70% of games.
intel does have the lead but at 1440p + resolutions its cut down

Would also like to swap to AOC Q3279VWFD8 32" 2560x1440 IPS 75Hz FREESYNC WideScreen LED Monitor
The case - will I fit all parts into CARBIDE SERIES AIR 240 HIGH AIRFLOW PC CASE - BLACK (CC-9011070-WW) ?
A cooler will definitely not fit into this one but is it needed for above spec?
