Hi can anyone pleeease someone help me here it's driving me nuts. I have an adsl router connected to my PC but how do I share the internet connection with my laptop? I have 2 LAN ports on my motherboard and I have used a crossover cable to connect my laptop and pc using the spare 2nd lan port. I get limited connectivity though

If you have a router connect the laptop directly to the router.
If not and you have a modem not a router. You will need to set up internet connection sharing on the PC to allow the Laptop to get ineternet access. crossover cable allows only connection between the two not beyond

Hey thanks for the reply, I just wanna connect my laptop to pc to share internet because i have one long ass ethernet cable from my router to pc.

both are sharing files but not internet, pc is vista and laptop is xp
both are called workgroup

Yay i did it! I had to go to network sharing centre in vista view status of my 2nd ethernet and click properties and ebable the computer to share internet. Then switched the ethernet cables around.
