Help connecting PS2 to moitor

I want to connect my PS2 to my 22" LCD monitor so I bought one of these cables:

I connected all the PS2 cables into the appropriate connectors and then plugged it into the VGA connector on my monitor. However when turn on the PS2 it doesn't seem to register on the monitor and goes on to standby. If I switch on the computer and go into signal select and select D-sub it goes blank for a second and then goes back to DVI. Any advice on what i'm doing wrong or even if i've bought the wrong cable?

I'm fairly certain you can't do what your trying to do with just a cable converter... and I have no idea why that cable has audio inputs into a vga connector?

You'll need a piece of hardware to convert that signal to VGA, if you search for composite to VGA converters on google you should find some. I can't recommend any as I've never used one but I can tell you it will look absolutely rubbish on your LCD.
