help converting powerpoint to word

I'm using Powerpoint 2007 and i tried using the publish to Word as handouts option.
Problem is its a 25 page powerpoint presentation at 1.5MB but when i transfer it to word it turns into a 50MB file which i can't email.

any ideas

Don't ask me. they asked for me to send it as a word document.

I've sent it as a pdf and as a ppt. no idea why they want it as a word doc.
