well, my friend has a 3.4ghz pentium d (you know where this is going) with a unknown 512mb graphics card that can play crysis on low. I'm finding it hard to convince him that a 3ghz e8400 or a 2.4ghz q6600 with a 512mb 8800gt is better than what he has, never mind trying to convince him that my 2.2ghz 4200x2 is equal to his 3.4ghz pentium d. any helpful tips?

I wouldn't worry too much about others. I've spent some of my time in the past telling my m8's that they should upgrade and it hardly ever works. When they come to my pad for a few games of football or to fire up a racing game then they get to see what an upgrade can bring them so I don't bother even mentioning it now

well my pc's not quite the buisiness ,it has a 4200x2, x1950gt (upgrading to x1900xt)
edit: i'm right in thinking that my 2.2ghz 4200x2 can equal his 3.4ghz pentium d dual core right?
