I have 7 inches to work with from the gpu to the power supply..what would you say is the best cooler that will fit inside that space, to cool an i5 750 3.2 ghz (overclocked)

Its the Rev B one, should have mentioned that.

Compatibility:

Intel® LGA1366 Processor
Intel® Core™ i7 Processor Extreme Edition Series
Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 9xx Series

Intel® LGA1156 Processor
Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 8xx Series
Intel® Core™ i5 Processor Series

more info here I just used this cooler in my very own htpc build and it worked very well, only a suggestion mate.

these forums are complete and utter AWFUL..you get a few responses from the same guy then that's it, you can't buy anything because you know Fu** all about it :@

These forums are pretty good actually. You would have got a better response if you worded your posts a little better. Slagging off the forums isnt going to help anyone.

Ok sorry all, here's the question:

I currently have the stock i5 750 CPU cooler and am wanting to "OverClock."
I am wanting a performance increase to around 3.2 GHz so I need some good airflow to cool it. I currently have a Xigmatek Asgard Midi Tower Gaming case which can be found at the manufacture here: http://www.xigmatek.com/product.php?productid=27

I would like to know what would be the best cooler for the i5 750 and for future "OverClocking" in case I want to push the core speed any further e.g. 4 GHz.

It also had to fit into the case measurements which can be read on the manufactures link above on this page. I play hard intense games a lot and will be purchasing "Crysis 2" when it is released which will more than likely be intense like "Crysis"!!! I also have a HIS Icooler ATI Radeon HD5850 which takes up some space.

I do not mind the price of the cooler within reason of what you would pay for the same information. I have had a look at a few coolers over the internet but am unsure of the measurements. I am happy to give you a few measurement if you require them but you will have to give me instructions on how to obtain them and where in the case to measure.

I hope to hear from you all!

what do you reckon to the xigmatek asgard?? I think it's good value for money and you get what you pay for and the h50 is an amazing cooler but the only downside is the fan/heatsink with it, I have seen many reviews that say it is not suitable for "OverClocking.":mad:

Now that I'm not on my phone answering your urgent questions I'll expand a little more.

The Asgard case offers excellent value for money in my opinion, I purchased this because I made a Quad core gaming rig and basically was on a budget, for the money it ticked all the boxes, enough space and extras, I initially used this case with a Blue Aurora CPU Cooler, which was 155mm high and it fit in no problem at all, I then overclocked my Q6600 to 3.6Ghz on air and the temperatures were fine but the noise levels not so good :) I read about the H50 and thought I'd give it a go, unsure if it would fit in my case and unsure if it would aid the temperatures.

To cut it short I'm now sat at 3.8Ghz from 2.4Ghz and idle at 39C and Prime Load at 68C very happy with that, the H50 fits in at squeeze and what's good is that you don't need to remove the motherboard for installation since you can access the rear of the board from the Asgard case.

I see lots of people on here using the H50 on the i7 processor so I see no problem for an i5?
