I've got Win XP 64 installed on my PC and want to try a dual boot with Win 7 64 bit. What would be the best way to go about this as I've never done a dual boot before?
the safest way is to actually start setup from within your windows xp desktop. make sure you have a spare drive/partition formatted as ntfs before you begin (with a drive letter assinged as well). then simply insert your windows 7 dvd and follow the prompts - making sure you select a custom install. then choose the empty partition you've created and that's it. it will automatically create the boot menu for you.
What would be the best way to partition the drive and say at some stage I want to remove one of the installs, would I also be able to remove the partition whilst keeping the remaining installation in place?
