HELP CSS packet loss/choke

hi guys i have recently noticed that i have a lot of packet loss/choke can this be helped? i am on 1MB AOL through a netgear dg834gt router.

had a play about with the rate and i have got it down to 0 on loss accasianlly see 1 or 2 but the choke is at 50-60 what do i do now?

cheers windle very informative post going to set it all up now
ok got the loss to 1-2 and choke varies a lot from 0 -30 much better in game now cant wait till i change ISPs (3 months)
