HELP! Dad's PC gone into hibernate, won't wake up!

Hi,

Problem with my dad's PC as described in the title. He was using it before lunch then went out shopping. Sometime between lunch and now it's gone into hibernate. However nothing we do seems to bring back up. The monitor does nothing more than show a blank display with a flashing light

The machine was then powered off and restarted manually but now does nothing more than make noise. The GFX Card is an Nvidia 8800GT that does a full speed fan test before settling down. It no longer settles down.

Other issues seem to be motherboard related as the keyboard and mouse recieve no power either.

Any ideas/wild theories?

Spec is:

Q6600
Gigabyte GA-P35
4GB OCZ Memory (2 x 2GB)
8800GT
Corsair 650W PSU

Tried using one stick of memory with no luck. Re-seated GFX card with no luck. No internal speaker for a beep code either as it appears to be missing

Clear the cmos, moce the jumper pin try to start up then put it back where it was. Also, removing all of the power connectors on the mobo then putting them back in helps aswell.

serious note, could be gfx card, as i had that problem with an X1800, worked fine 1 day, turned on next and all it would do is spin up & nadda

Resetting CMOS has done the trick. Turned off hibernate too.
