Hey everyone, for xmas I bought my dad a new CPU, GPU, RAM and mobo.

Swapped everything over, booted it up but nothing is displaying on the screen at all...Not even the light it powering up.

The actual tower SEEMS to be alive and well (not rebooting or anything) so im pretty confused...

I thought it could be the graphics card (8800GTS 512) but i had the in my PC like 10 mins ago and it was fine.

What would make my dads pc not display AT ALL? (no monitor activity)

System Specs

6550
DS3
8800GTS 512mb
400W PSU
2x2gb 6400 ram

Help?

Nah i dont think theres any onboard video on a DS3. Yes plugged into the correct one :)

Like i said, if it was the PSU, would all the fans and lights boot up aswell? Wouldnt it just be dead?

Few suggestions :)

Poor dad :( He was looknig forward to some new PC stuff aswell :(

maybe try safe mode,to see if the res or synch has been set too high/low?
Can you try another monitor on the pc?
Just reread your original post, you mean that you changed the cpu.mobo and gfx and ram and just put the old hdd back in WITHOUT reinstalling windows?

The single most common cause for a system 'starting' ie fans spinning, but no video is the 4/8pin 'Intel' connector isn't plugged in.

Is that definitely plugged in?

Check all connections again and maybe reseat everything.

If it's still not working and all the connections are correct then I'd suspect either the PSU or motherboard.

What brand PSU is it?
