Help deciding which Route

ok guys so my new case has arrived today and want to start putting somethings in it to build my pc

I want to start from scratch so will need:

CPU
motherboard
ram
psu

I will sort the gpu out later will be going rtx 2070 I think

my question is what is best for gaming

I was leaning towards intel i7 as I have previously got an i5 at the moment
but looking at amd as they are a little cheaper

I only game at 1920x1080 but want the to be able to play games at a high setting
like anthem,divison 2,cod them sort of games
just brought a new monitor msi mag271c 27"
I have ssd drives already
and will have a cpu cooler on order

just need help in deciding which route to go

I wont be overlocking anything as I don't know how so will all be stock

I have just had this case

Thermaltake Level 20 MT ARGB Midi Tower - Black Window

my current hardware is a little outdated

i5 2600k 3.3Ghz
gigabyte Z68AP-D3 motherboard
12gb ram ddr3 corsair vengeance
asus strix 1050ti
550w power supply I think of the top of my head

budget I don't know seeing a few prices from different sites around £400-£600

I will get the GPU last once I have everything in place

thinking of buying this cooler to match the case
