Hi guys u may or may not have seen my post in the general thread about a problem i was having where my comp wasn't booting? (if not here it is : http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17560345).

well i have pretty much narrowed it down to a motherboard fault as when i have 2 sticks of ram in my motherboard in any slots it won't post, as soon as i take 1 stick out it's fine! i have tried both sticks on their own both work.

So is my motherboard just fried or is it something else do you think?

yup this is when it freezes, my comp won't even reach bios with 2 sticks, it just won't post. think it is generally fried :( shame as i picked it up for £55 on the MM now if i want a replacement it's £146 lol think i'l just go all balls out on the expert, but rumour has it that DFI is bringing out a newer board?

hmm this is true, can't rma the board unfortunately as like i say it was bought in the members market, but just been offered a 2week old with receipt DFI sli expert for £105 so think this could well be on the cards.

another update guys both ram modules are now working comp booting but in single chan mode (slots 1+2) but still won't boot in slots 2+4 which my board recommends for dual channel

Sounds like some dual channel / RAM slot problem with your motherboard.
RMA - painful and long, but faulty motherboard is horrible & the problem could cause instability. ;)

Craig.
