Hey all, need help as im stumped now.

PC turned off whilst no one was in the office to see if anything "bad" happened.

Im getting a crackle when connecting kettle lead
Im getting mobo leds with psu turned on

-----

Im not getting anything at all when hitting power button on front of case
Im not getting anything at all when pressing the power button on the mobo itself

-----

Ive now just fitted a brand new EVGA psu ( it was a coolermaster previously ) thinking that was the issue but still no further forward.

Anything else i could try or you think it could be?

Thanks.

Think ive solved it, didnt know the cmos battery could stop the mobo powering up!

Now to plug the system into a monitor and see for sure...

You’ll get a crackle when you plug a live lead into the back of the PSU, it’s the sound of arcing.

Before I read the edit I was thinking Mobo, so hopefully this solves it. Let us know :)

Dead BIOS/CMOS battery can sure cause weird problems including not booting.
But it can't cause crackling from PSU.
So they were separate issues and PSU likely just decided to die.

Depends what the crackling is. As i said if you plug a live lead into the back of the PSU, you'll hear arcing.
