everytime i go to play my fave adventure game on pc "broken sword 4" it's goes all crazy any any object ingame that is supposed to move like characters, doors, interactive objects just appear solid black i've tried every compatibility mode windows 7 has to offer hoping some of you guru's could throw in your 2 pence worth

P:S every other game i have is fine i did notice tho that while installing the game which i have done several times now just to be sure at the end it always says failed to place desktop shortcut

nevermind it appears this game won't run on quad core processors and they never released a patch to fix it FFS

actually would there be a way to get this game to run using task manager and setting affinity i tried it but to be able to see the game in task manager you have to start it by which time it's already trying to use 4 cores

Driver issue. Try others?

no not drivers worked fine in my x2 3800+ a couple of weeks ago i tried rolling back through earlier cats definately according to multiple google searches it don't run on quad cores without the interactive and live motion objects being unshaded

This is a new video card, and if I remember correctly, you couldn't get it to work on your old 3800X2 CPU due to motherboard issues, what did you play this game on before?

If I'm completely wrong, forgive me, I'm in amsterdam till wednesday. I'm stoned, and its 0307 in the morning.

In xp, when dual core were coming out and were all the rage, there was a setting in device manager to check/ammend to ensure it was using two cores and not just one.

Maybe there is some reverse thing you can do in windows7 to make it smp only.
