Help i need a driver for my new build. Just installing windows on a bundle from ocuk. usiong and old hard drive, windows is asking for a driver, it cant access the hard drive.
Any ideas where to get it and how to install it?

What type of drive is it?
Have you setup your BIOS correctly?
Is the drive already formatted?

Are you trying to use raid? if not using raid you should not need any drivers for a win7 hard drive install.

In the grand scheme of things that drive isn't exactly ancient, so Windows 7 should have no problem seeing it. I have installed 7 to much older hardware!

You should check the BIOS and see what the SATA controller is set to. It may be an OcUK bundle, but mistakes are still possible.

You might have the HD plugged into one of the SATA ports controlled by a third-party chip rather than by the motherboard chipset itself; in that case, Windows might not have a driver for the disk controller, or it might not even be enabled.

Have a look in your motherboard manual to see which ports are connected to which controller, and make sure it's connected directly to the chipset. (Or just plug it into a SATA port that's a different colour and see what happens!)
