Righto, here goes:
as of last night all was dandy, my macbookpro resolution is 1680x1080, running in clamshell mode, with a 24" monitor connected via DVI cable, mirrored display option checked.
all is good, so last night i unplugged all and went and watched tv and browsed the web.
Today i plug in, and it wont recognise my external monitor at all, so i think hmm, ok, so i elimate the problem by using a VGA cable instead, bravo back to normal, now here comes the anger, i cannot have the monitors resolution of 1680x1080 is just aint happening, no option for it all?
i've tryed the DVI cable again no luck, i dont have a spare either! ive tryed displayconfigX and tryed forcing 1680x1080 its giving me all kinds of wierd display glitching, it just aint happening!
anyone got any ideas on how to solve this?
p.s- also now its asking for the resolution of both monitors 1) the macbook pro 2) the external display, it never did this before it just mirrored the resolution and set it to its native resolution 1680x1080 whys it asking me now for both!?
