Help! DVD disc has errors and i need info off of it

Copied some stuff to a DVD-R disc and then went to read the dvd but no joy! I need to access the info on it but i have tried a few programs to get the info off but nothing!!

The Hard drive was formatted and windows installed so DVD is only backup!!

Can anyone recommend a program that is free and can get info off an unreadeable DVD?

Use a lower speed drive if you have one.

Nero can "rip" the DVD at a lower speed.

I can't remember where the option is in the menus and I don't have access to a computer with Nero on it right now. I'll see if I can do that tomorrow if someone hasn't already offered a solution.

Prob totalled, try repair kit or polish it

Even take to one of the Game stores, they have machines to try fix them.

Try reading it in another drive and check that you've actually written something to it by doing drive info or something along those lines in Nero.
