help e6400 installation troubble

hello

i am having probs installing my retail hsf on my core 2 duo. its really wired i am using the stock intel one and when i put down on one of the tabs to lock the hsf the opisite corner pops out even when its ¨locked¨ tbh its seems like it not supposed to fit... like it want to bend or somthing... am i missing somthin here?

its an asrock dual vsta

had the same problem the standard HSF with conroes are useless... you have to really and I mean really push it down to make sure that its in right as you twist... if you get what I mean

ive pressed as hard as i can and i cant get it in properly.... i mean its just not staying down.... lways one corner up...! ( the same corner it that means anything )

I had this trouble - 2 of the 4 were really awkward. I had to remove the heatsink and fan, and then clip/unclip the 2 offending ones loads of times until they loosened up a little. Then they went in (it was still tough though). Good luck!
 
I had this problem as well, just make sure the clips are twisted the correct way around. The only reason to twist them is to remove them :)
 
Yeh, try turning the HS&Fan round so the pins are going into different holes, it really is horrible getting it on the board, it feels so flimsy! I personally LOVE the AMD system with the clip thing that goes either side of the CPU.. It's brilliant! However I've found aftermarket HS&Fans to be easier on installation :]
