Im building a new computer with an IP35 Pro. E8400 and Thermalright Ultima 90i cooler. The first time I checked into the bios, it reported the CPU at 244 degrees!

I'm pretty sure this cant be right so probably just a faulty sensor, but I dont want to switch it back on until Ive had some reassurance from you guys. Anyone had this issue before?

OK, thanks guys. Guess it's a bad sensor then. It's set to shut down above 85 degrees and its fine so it must not actually be that hot.

Will update the bios when its built and see if that fixes the problem.

Edit: Long thread about it here http://forum.uabit.com/showthread.php?t=133649

Exactly the same temp as me! Havent read the whole thread but it does look like a bios update might fix the problem.

Just an update for anyone else having this problem...

Havent updated the bios yet - only beta ones available atm which apparently only have mixed success at best fixing this issue.

However, CoreTemp reports cores running at 27/35 idle and 37/45 load which is far more reasonable, although I wish the cores temps were closer.

Its also just completed 14 hours of priming (at stock) with no problems, so at the moment, Ive simply switched off the beep and shutdown due to CPU overheating in the bios and let it be.

Will try updating the bios at some point, but may wait for the next official one first.
