Hi Guys..

I currently have an Asus P5B Deluxe Mobo and a Q6600 and some Crucial Ballistix 8500 memory running at stock.

The problem I am having is everytime i turn the computer on from scratch I get 1 long beep and 3 short beeps which indicates 64k base memory error.

I originally had the same setup apart from having an E6400 running at stock and I never had this problem with that..

Since I have put this Q6600 in im getting it very regularly and I dont know what can be causing it as on the net it says to reseat the ram or it could be faulty memory.

I havnt got any other chip to try in its place so I cant try anything else.

I have run memtest86 for 3 hours and it passed fine, so I was wondering could the cpu be faulty and cause this problem?

Another problem I have had is that the computer could be on and then the screen on my monitor will come up with Power Saving Mode and I have to physically turn off the pc and then on again to get the picture to come back on.

Has anyone any ideas on what could be causing this as its now doing me head in and I feel like smashing it up.. lol

Thanks guys for anyone who might shed any light on this subject..

Kingy

P.S Forgot to add that I have tried the settings manually with different volts etc... and its still the same.
