Hello all, I'd like a bit of help in the right direction with my pc hardware. I love the game Crysis but my PC does have a bit of trouble playing it in High without lagging abit. It runs it in high ok but its just annoying to play it when its just jittering a bit. My pc stats are listed below...

AMD Atholon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 5000+
2.59 GHz, 1.50GB of RAM
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB
Windows XP Professional

I think thats all the info I can give.

If anyone could help me in what I should upgrade or buy to help it play smoother then that would be great :)

Thanks again.

Well If I decided to sell it, what would you expect to be getting for it?... Mostly brand new gear, I only bought graphics card awhile ago from overclockers.

Actually, that's not such an abysmal system. I'd up your ram to 2GB or 4GB if you're on Vista. and then I'd put a Athlon X2 6000+ in there. It would be much cheaper than buying a new system. It wouldn't cost you any more than £120 including shipping.

EDIT: Remove the competitor's link or the mods will get you. ;)

EDIT: If you're quick, you can get the 7750+ for the same price before the end of the week.

Thanks for reply, Thats what I got advised to do before but a lot of people are saying get a new PC

Do you want me to remove the link?..

And resize the sig

in terms of your system, its not too far off what I have to be honest, although mines no power house! Id deff up the RAM, then after that it will be a toss up between a new GFX or a new CPU, can your Mobo take Phenoms?

No need for that. Upgrade what you have. Your motherboard may even take one of the new AMD Phenom ll cpu's. A new cpu, ATI 4870/GTX260 or 280 and 2Gb of decent ram would be a nice upgrade. How on earth did you end up with 1.5GB of ram?

Ive had this PC for a while and Ive just kept upgrading it over time. Ive no idea how I got that RAM but that was my thoughts on just buying a whole new top of range PC. I thought If I bought a new pc which is pretty much top range. I wouldnt have to upgrade for a while.

How do you think this will run crysis...

Intel® Core™ i7 940 Quad Core Processor (2.93GHz,8MB Cache,4.8GT/s)
Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium with Service Pack 1, 64-bit - English
CoolerMaster Cosmos 1000 Professional Silent Chassis with 1000W PSU
ASUS P6T Deluxe Mainboard - Intel Core™ i7 - ATX - Dual Mode SLI & CrossfireX
6GB 1333MHz Triple Channel DDR3 SDRAM - ( 3x2GB )
1TB (1x 1000GB) Serial ATA 2 Hard Drive with 32MB Buffer
2x 1GB NVIDIA GeForce with CUDA GTX280 SLi Configuration

Sorry if some of the info is not needed but its all I have :)

Thanks all

Pretty much top end spec for gaming and will run games on high settings very well.

What size monitor you using?

I'd change the 940 for a 920 which can be clocked to 940 speeds and above easily enough and save you quite a few quid in the process.
